With an excellent brand name and a worldwide position of its Purofort products, Dunlop is active in the design, development and manufacture of high quality boots. We offer our customers high quality safety boots for professional use in sectors such as agriculture, food processing, construction, infrastructure, mining and oil & gas. We are currently expanding our team and looking for dedicated individuals to join us at our state-of-the-art manufacturing plant.

Position Summary/Objective:
The Director of Finance will report directly to the President DPF USA and will be managing Finance for the commercial and production organization in the USA. The local Finance team consists of 4 direct reports and 1 dotted line report (IT). You will part of the DPF USA Management Team with whom you will develop the Dunlop business in a profitable manner in the USA. This includes supporting the sales organization in their commercial propositions and driving efficiency improvements.


The Director of Finance & Control is responsible for maximizing the return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems. You will liaise frequently with the Group Controller (based in Netherlands). This position ensures legal and regulatory compliance for all accounting, tax and financial reporting functions. The Director of Finance & Control also oversees payroll and risk management. 

The ideal candidate is someone with strong finance and accounting acumen, is able to see the big picture and work at a strategic level, yet knows the details and is willing to roll up his / her sleeves to get the job done.

Essential Functions:
  • Provides strategic financial leadership and support on the evaluation of potential business opportunities, investments and the general profitability of the company
  • Ensures timely and accurate budget analysis and financial review for management team.
  • Establishes financial reporting systems and controls to ensure compliance with company policies and to meet customer needs
  • Responsible for the financial consolidation and reporting of the company on a period, quarterly and annual basis, including:
    • Consolidated periodic reporting towards Management  
    • Audited annual accounts; statutory and corporate tax returns and subsequent follow ups with the authorities;
  • Recommends and develops policies, procedures and systems to meet company objectives.
  • Provide pro-active advise re. profitability development
  • Works to optimize the handling of bank and deposit relationships and initiates needed strategies for improvement.
  • Builds, develops and manages finance and IT team capable of carrying out needed initiatives.
  • Development and analysis of product, customer and channel profitability reporting in Power BI
  • Cash flow forecasting process and optimization working capital

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position is directly responsible for all employees within the department.

Physical Demands:
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel:
Some out-of-the-area and overnight travel is expected.

Education and Experience:
  • 3-5 years of experience in managing an accounting function in small or medium sized company; preferably in an international commercial and production organization
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting required; Master degree preferred
  • CPA or CMA qualification preferred

Starting Compensation: $150,000-160,000
