The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of equipment in the manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate will work with a sense of urgency to fix equipment in a high speed environment. Some duties include maintaining and repairing injection molding machines, automation equipment, hydraulic systems, AC/DC motors, and performing basic welding tasks. The role also involves programming and troubleshooting PLCs to ensure efficient and safe operation of all machinery and equipment.

$32-$37 per hour

Key Responsibilities:
- Uses in depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems to do complex troubleshooting, diagnoses and repairs on broken or faulty machinery in a timely manner.
- Works independently and mentors other technicians on how to troubleshoot any major mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic problems.
- Works with outside contractors on problems that cannot be solved internally.
- Ensures that all safety systems and guarding on all machines and auxiliary equipment is kept in good working order.
- Responsible for doing any facility maintenance needed.
- Makes recommendations and upon approval places orders for the necessary parts to improve or repair machinery.
- Leads or assists in moving of machinery within the plant as well as hooking-up and leveling new machines when needed.
- Responsible for performing maintenance functions on all auxiliary equipment.
- Ensures that all work areas are kept clean and organized.
- Learns, practices, and supports lean manufacturing tools to assist the Company in the continuous improvement process.
- Follows Dunlop's environmental policies to protect and minimize our impact on the environment.
- Maintains a safe 5S working environment to minimize the possibility of an injury. Acts in a safe manner at all times and ensures that those around him/her do not put themselves or others at risk. Reports any unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
- Performs other related duties and assignments as assigned or required.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of trades
- Use of basic hand tools
- Experience with injection molding machines and automation
- Hydraulic and Pneumatic experience
- AC/DC Motors
- Fork truck/Boom Lifts
- Blueprint/Schematic Reading
- Basic Welding
- Basic PLC Programming
- Experience in injection molding or the plastic industry highly preferred
- Ability to repair and maintain production equipment.
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance in all areas
- Basic Mechanical and Electrical knowledge
