Operations Coordinator

The Operations Coordinator is responsible for supporting the operational efficiency, safety compliance, and employee training initiatives within the manufacturing environment. This role serves as a key liaison between Operations, HR, and Safety departments, ensuring accurate documentation, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the effective onboarding and training of plant employees. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly desirable due to the diverse workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative & Operational Support:
Responsible for Operations Project Management (CapEx/ continuous improvement/ new line installations/ GRANT administration)
Site ActIn production monitoring system champion.
Site MaintainX/ Spare Parts Champion- total maintenance system and associated spare parts alignment
Manage Smart Sheet platforms for data analysis, report generation, and project tracking.
Budget planning and monitoring.
- Utilize ActIn and other internal systems for documentation, compliance tracking, and process support.
Training & Development:
Site Training Coordinator is responsible for tracking overall compliance across the organization (includes DOP, OSHA, CPR, etc…)
Develop and maintain DOP training modules in collaboration with the Operations team (English & Spanish).
Create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)/ Job Element Sheets (JESs) for hourly employees.
Conduct onboarding follow-ups to confirm new hires have received necessary training and monitoring milestone status.
Career Ladder certification and train the trainer SME
Coordinate and manage ongoing training and retention initiatives on the plant floor.
Safety & Compliance:
Site Safety Coordinator- responsible for the scheduling and leading of monthly safety meetings, safety walks, toolbox talks, and related activities.
ISO and Compliance SME
Emergency Response Team Champion- identify, train, and coordinate the site Emergency Response Team.
Maintain and update safety boards and recognize employee contributions through the Safety Hero program.
Conduct risk assessments in alignment with Global HSE planning.
Coordinate annual noise and air quality studies.
Lead emergency evacuation drills and develop continuous improvement initiatives.
Update and analyze safety metrics using the Balance Scorecard.
Serve as an ISO internal auditor and ensure ongoing compliance with operational standards.
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by the Director of Operations to support department and company goals.
Working Conditions:
This position requires an extensive presence on the plant floor.
Office environment with extended periods of computer use.
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree or equivalent certification required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
2+ years of experience in an project management, administrative or operations support role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Smart Sheets, and other digital tools.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.
Familiarity with OSHA, ISO standards, and HSE practices is a plus.
Location: This position will require you to work onsite in Havre de Grace, MD.

Compensation:
We offer competitive wages commensurate with job skills, experience, education and geographic location. The starting range for this role is $60-70,000 plus a 10% bonus opportunity.
